Ugadi 2023
Ugadi is celebrated by telugu community to commemorate the arrival of New Year. People celebrate with great enthusiasm and fervour. Ugadi falls on the first day of the Chaitra month of the lunisolar calendar and March-April according to Gregorian calendar. This symbolises that people must experience all flavours in the coming new year and should bask in the goodness of life. Ugadi has the cultural, religious and natural importance which symbolizes the beginning of new era and the time of harvest. Devotional music and poetry are organized on this day in many places and many traditional, literature and culture tableaux are also organized.
A special dish called “Pachadi” is prepared on the eve of Ugadi which indicates people’s belief about life and reflects their culture. This is an important occasion to mark the end of dark phases and the beginning of a new phase in everyone’s lives. People celebrate to bring in a feeling of universal brotherhood and harmony among people. This joyous occasion is celebrated with happiness and togetherness with our near and dear ones. It’s a great occasion to teach our kids the significance of culture by coming together and celebrating with our community. This will establish good relationships among the people and creates harmony within the community.
